The technique and the materials used are typical of the buildings in the area: ancient wooden beams, terracotta floors on the ground floor, wooden floors on the second, stone and terracotta tiled roofs.
Behind the house a shady pergola and a wrought-iron gazebo give shelter from the sun during the day and cool at night.

It is in an ideal place for visiting Val d'Orcia and enjoying the thermal waters of the Etruscan San Casciano dei Bagni. To the south, Lago di Bolsena is about 30 minutes away where you can enjoy swimming and water sports. To the north are the wonderful towns of Chianciano Terme Sarteano, Chiusi (vecchio), and Citta Della Pieve. If you want to drive a bit further you will find, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino and Perugia to name just a few. Between 60 and 90 minutes you have, Siena, Assisi, Florence, Pisa and Porto Santo Stefano (beach destination) and many more. Rome is at about 2 hours.
Cetona itself is a well-preserved, attractive mediaeval town located the Val di Chiana halfway between Florence and Rome. It surrounds a hill fortress which was built around 900 A.D. an outer wall containing two round towers was added in 1458 A.D. It has fine views of Monte Cetona, and is surrounded by pretty hills planted with cypresses and pine trees. has a typically medieval, circular plan centred on the crest of a hill.
