Scoppietto, in the province of Orvieto, is a pretty stone-built, hilltop hamlet overlooking Lake Corbara and the fluvial park of the Tiber. It is just a short drive from Baschi and 2km from the local sports centre and swimming pool.

Recent archaeological finds have brought to light a village dating back to the first century BC dedicated to the production of ceramics, which were then transported to Rome via the nearby river and sold in the entire Mediterranean region.

The property is close to the motorway exit of Orvieto and a few kilometres from the nearest town, Baschi. This is an ideal spot from which to visit the many Umbrian hilltop towns, such as Orvieto, Todi, Perugia, Assisi and Spoleto. Lake Bolsena and Lake Trasimeno are both within easy reach as are many archaeological sites, including the Roman town of Carsulae and the Etruscan tombs near Montecchio. Throughout the summer there are numerous Food festivals in the area and manyy vineyards which offer tastings and local olive mills.
